Service is an important part of life at Covenant. Not only is it a way to serve other people and places, but it is also an important way to grow and mature in the faith. Covenant encourages attenders to use their gifts through volunteering alongside other Christians. Covenant has regular service opportunities listed in the order of worship, both within our church community and with our partner ministries, Breakthrough Urban Ministries and World Relief Chicago.
Below is a list of a few of our current volunteer needs. To sign up or learn more about additional opportunities, contact Pastor Dan Adamson.
Christmas in the City: This month, Covenant is purchasing Christmas gifts for organizations throughout our city. You can pick up a tag for a specific gift from the tree in the Sanctuary, or you can purchase from the wish lists below:

Set up Breakthrough’s Christmas Store: Breakthrough provides a Christmas store with 5,000 donated gifts that support 1,000 families. Covenant is helping them to set up their store on Friday, December 14th from 6- 9:30 pm. All ages are able to help out. This will take place at Breakthrough’s FamilyPlex. If you are interested, email Liz Morriss.
Children’s Ministry: Covenant is in need of more volunteers in children’s ministry. We are looking for volunteers to serve in our infant and toddler nurseries and Children’s Worship for PreK-5th grade.
Ushers: Ushers prepare and hand out the order of worship, pass the offering plate and welcome everyone as they come into the sanctuary. This is a great way to get to know people at Covenant.
