Service is an important part of life at Covenant. Not only is it a way to serve other people and places, but it is also an important way to grow and mature in the faith. Covenant encourages attenders to use their gifts through volunteering alongside other Christians. Covenant has regular service opportunities listed in the order of worship, both within our church community and with our partner ministries, Breakthrough Urban Ministries and World Relief Chicago.
Below is a list of a few of our current volunteer needs. To sign up or learn more about additional opportunities, contact Pastor Dan Adamson.
Serve Breakfast at Breakthrough:
Breakthrough’s mission is to partner with those affected by poverty to build connections, develop skills, and open doors of opportunity. Covenant partners with Breakthrough in several ways, including providing, preparing, and serving meals at their women’s shelters on the 4th Saturday of every month. All are welcome: families, individuals and small groups. If you are interested in finding out more, or would like to sign up to help, email firstname.lastname@example.org
Children’s Ministry: Covenant is in need of more volunteers in children’s ministry. We are looking for volunteers to serve in our infant and toddler nurseries and Children’s Worship for PreK-5th grade.
Ushers: Ushers prepare and hand out the order of worship, pass the offering plate and welcome everyone as they come into the sanctuary. This is a great way to get to know people at Covenant.
