Service is an important part of life at Covenant. Not only is it a way to serve other people and places, but it is also an important way to grow and mature in the faith. Covenant encourages attenders to use their gifts through volunteering alongside other Christians. Covenant has regular service opportunities listed in the order of worship, both within our church community and with our partner ministries, Breakthrough Urban Ministries and World Relief Chicago.
Below is a list of a few of our current volunteer needs. To sign up or learn more about additional opportunities, contact Pastor Dan Adamson.
Serve Breakfast at Breakthrough:
Breakthrough’s mission is to partner with those affected by poverty to build connections, develop skills, and open doors of opportunity. Covenant partners with Breakthrough in several ways, including providing, preparing, and serving meals at their women’s shelters on the 4th Saturday of every month. All are welcome: families, individuals and small groups. If you are interested in finding out more, or would like to sign up to help, email email@example.com
Children’s Ministry: Covenant is in need of more volunteers in children’s ministry. We are looking for volunteers to serve in our infant and toddler nurseries and Children’s Worship for PreK-5th grade.
May Mercy Bin: Join Covenant in supporting World Relief’s summer Youth Learning Program for newly arrived refugees, asylees, and immigrant children. We are collecting BP fuel gift cards to provide van transportation to and from their summer program, providing children with access to language-focused instruction and enrichment activities to help them feel welcome in our city and thrive. BP fuel gift cards can be purchased online and placed in the box at the sanctuary Welcome Table during the month of May.
