Service is an important part of life at Covenant. Not only is it a way to serve other people and places, but it is also an important way to grow and mature in the faith. Covenant encourages attenders to use their gifts through volunteering alongside other Christians. Covenant has regular service opportunities listed in the order of worship, both within our church community and with our partner ministries, Breakthrough Urban Ministries and World Relief Chicago.
Covenant hosts a legal aid clinic on the second Saturday of every month and we’re aiming to grow to serve more clients. In order to do that, we’re looking for volunteers to help on Saturday mornings to greet guests and support them. If you’d be interested in volunteering for the clinic, please contact Linda Gehrs. Most volunteers serve once every other month.
If you’d like to volunteer on Sunday mornings, Covenant is look for volunteers to help as ushers and as Common Ground volunteers.
Ushers: Greet our attenders as they arrive to service and help people find their way as they arrive. If you’d like to volunteer, contact Margret Ann Natsis.
Common Ground Volunteers: Covenant is looking for additional volunteers to help with coffee and snacks for Common Ground. Volunteers help with either setup (9:15-10:30) or clean up (10:45-11:45). Most volunteers serve once a month in teams of three. If you’d be interested, please contact Larissa Bossemeyer.
