Service is an important part of life at Covenant. Not only is it a way to serve other people and places, but it is also an important way to grow and mature in the faith. Covenant encourages attenders to use their gifts through volunteering alongside other Christians. Covenant has regular service opportunities listed in the order of worship, both within our church community and with our partner ministries, Breakthrough Urban Ministries and World Relief Chicago.
This month, Covenant is collecting donations for Breakthrough Urban Ministries and New Moms who are hosting Christmas stores to help families celebrate the joy of the season through gift giving despite financial difficulties. You can learn more and find their wish lists here.
Covenant is also helping to set up Breakthrough’s Christmas Store on December 15 from 6:30-9:30 pm. If you’d like to sign up, contact Pastor Dan.
If you’d like to volunteer on Sunday mornings, Covenant is look for volunteers to help as ushers and as Common Ground volunteers.
Ushers: Greet our attenders as they arrive to service and help people find their way as they arrive. If you’d like to volunteer, contact Margret Ann Natsis.
Common Ground Volunteers: Covenant is looking for additional volunteers to help with coffee and snacks for Common Ground. Volunteers help with either setup (during the 9:00 am service) or clean up (during the 11:15 service), as well as helping during Common Ground to replenish coffee as needed. Most volunteers serve once a month. If you’d be interested, please contact Larissa Bossemeyer.
