Jeff was born and raised in the Dallas area. He studied German Literature at Princeton University, where he later did two years of college ministry. He has a Masters of Divinity and Theology from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and has been a member of Covenant since 2003. Jeff has spent a number of years living, teaching, and ministering in Europe and the Middle East. He was ordained at Covenant in 2006, came onto staff as an assistant pastor in 2010, and in 2016 became the Church Planting Pastor. Jeff, his wife, Cindy, and their two children live in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago. They were married in July 2010. Jeff enjoys cooking, biking, and trying to speak various languages.
Covenant is committed to starting new churches across the city that identify with and serve specific neighborhoods. In 2017, Jeff and a group from both Covenant and Lincoln Square Presbyterian Church began meeting as Boulevard Presbyterian Church. Boulevard meets in Oak Park and serves the Austin and Oak Park neighborhoods.
