Gene grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana and moved to Chicago in 1993 for college and graduate school. He married his wife, Leilani, in 1994, and they started attending Covenant in 1996. He started working for Covenant in 1997 and shortly after became the Director of Property. He then took on the additional role of Director of Finance in 2004. He and Leilani have 4 children and live in Bucktown. Gene loves spending time with his family, traveling, and rock climbing.
Gene has oversight of finances and property at Covenant. He assists the treasurer and finance committee in managing the budget and preparing monthly financial reports. Together with the property committee and maintenance staff, he manages the restoration, repair and maintenance of Covenant’s buildings and grounds.
