David grew up in Northern California and moved to Chicago in 1999 for college and graduate school. He began attending Covenant in 2004. After receiving his Masters of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 2006, he joined Covenant’s staff as an Associate Pastor. David, his wife Rachel, and their two children live in North Center. David enjoys the outdoors, movies, reading, and spending time with his wife and kids.
David oversees the Covenant staff, providing them support, encouragement and opportunities for development. He also oversees discipleship opportunities such as the Covenant Life Class, the Story of Scripture Class, and the Discipleship Cohorts. David is particularly passionate about creating safe spaces at Covenant for the interplay between the Gospel story, our stories of heartache, and spiritual formation. He invests much of his time in pastoral counseling and has completed certificates in Narrative Focused Trauma Care with The Allender Center.
