Service is an important part of life at Covenant. Not only is it a way to serve other people and places, but it is also an important way to grow and mature in the faith. Covenant encourages attenders to use their gifts through volunteering alongside other Christians. Covenant has regular service opportunities listed in the order of worship, both within our church community and with our partner ministries, Breakthrough Urban Ministries and World Relief Chicago.
Below is a list of a few of our current volunteer needs. To sign up or learn more about additional opportunities, contact Pastor Dan Adamson.
Children’s Ministry: Covenant is in need of more volunteers in children’s ministry. We are looking for volunteers to serve in our nurseries for children 0-3, Sunday School classrooms for ages 4-11, and in Children’s Worship for children 4-7.
Help with Cookouts: Covenant will have an all-church cookout on June 24. We will need many volunteers to help with setup, cleanup and managing the grill.
Homecourt with Breakthrough: Every summer, Breakthrough hosts a series of summer block parties & basketball tournaments in East Garfield Park. Covenant is partnering with Breakthrough on Friday, June 22 to host Home Court in St. Louis Park from 2 to 8 pm. Volunteers prepare food for the free cookout and help with children’s activities. Covenant needs over 30 volunteers to help with a portion or the whole event.
