Service is an important part of life at Covenant. Not only is it a way to serve other people and places, but it is also an important way to grow and mature in the faith. Covenant encourages attenders to use their gifts through volunteering alongside other Christians. Covenant has regular service opportunities listed in the order of worship, both within our church community and with our partner ministries, Breakthrough Urban Ministries and World Relief Chicago.
Below is a list of a few of our current volunteer needs. To sign up or learn more about additional opportunities, contact Pastor Dan Adamson.
Serve Breakfast at Breakthrough: Covenant serves breakfast on the 4th Saturday of the month. You’re welcome to sign up for one time or serve each month.
World Relief Fall Festival: Covenant is hosting a Fall Festival party on October 28 for refugee families with World Relief. We need volunteers to serve at the event, to help plan activities, to provide snacks and supplies for crafts, and to provide monetary donations for public transit for the families. Additional details can be found on the event page.
AWANA Volunteers: AWANA has started up again and needs more volunteers. Volunteers help on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 to 8 pm in the Education Building throughout the school year. We are currently in need of classroom teachers, classroom helpers and game leaders.
Welcome Table: Welcome others to Covenant and provide information to newcomers before and after service, or during Common Ground.
