About Us

The All Saints Cathedral parish organized in 1895, and at much personal cost built our present church building. They finished and opened the "White Cathedral" in 1931, and continued meeting here until 1993, when Covenant Presbyterian Church purchased the building. We are happy to honor their hard work and faithfulness.

All Saints

sanctuary In August of 1981, a small group of professionals and seminary students met in an apartment in the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago to pray about starting a church.

In 1982, Covenant Presbyterian Church of Chicago was officially organized as a church of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and soon after began renting space and meeting at the Church of the Three Crosses in Lincoln Park.

In 1985, to create more space for a growing congregation, Covenant rented space at the United Church of Christ on Seminary and Lill in Lincoln Park and continued to worship there until 1993.

With the congregation continuing to grow, Covenant considered over 30 locations in search of a permanent worship location to buy. A department store on Lincoln and Barry Avenue was the final decision.

Two days before Covenant signed the department store space, Covenant became aware that All Saints Catholics Church in Bucktown was for sale. In December of 1993 Covenant moved into our present location.

Covenant is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and is a member of the Chicago Metro Presbytery.
